Safe Animal Handling and Vitals
March 7, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Learn to take vitals (temperature, pulse and respiration rate) and use a stethoscope to listen to heart, lungs and digestive systems on various species. Overview of how to keep yourself safe when handling, loading/unloading and caring for animals. These skills will help you become a more active partner with your veterinarian, and are required for some shelter, SIP and evacuation volunteers. Those wanting to fulfill a role where you will be working hands on with animals are required to take this course, however it’s encouraged for all volunteers.
