ACS Field Livestock Skills: FAI
March 7 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The Farmed Animal Immersive (FAI) is a one-of-a-kind, full-day training designed specifically for Disaster Service Workers (DSWs). This hands-on, immersive experience equips participants with species-specific knowledge, essential skills, and the confidence to assess, handle, and respond effectively to the unique needs of farmed animals.
Through real-life situational drills and immersive learning with farmed animals, responders strengthen their readiness to manage challenging rescue scenarios involving pigs, goats, sheep, cows, birds, including animals with special needs or behavioral challenges. Training takes place in a safe, controlled, and supportive environment and is designed to complement existing CART and DSW fieldwork while prioritizing safety, animal welfare, and real-world application.
