DESCRIPTION:Are you prepared to help yourself\, family and neighbors in the event of a major disaster? Do you know what utilities to shut off in your home and how? Do you know how to extinguish a fire before it becomes large? Do you know how to safely remove a victim trapped under debris? Do you know the basic first aid techniques that can save a life? These questions are answered in a course now being offered to the residents & workers of Napa County with the cooperation of the County of Napa & the Cities of Napa\, American Canyon\, Calistoga and the Napa Valley College. It consists of five classes in a two-week period covering a series of topics in a 20-hour format that are taught in a “hands on” environment. All registrants must be at least 16 years of age & those 18 and under must register & attend all classes with a parent/guardian. Attendance at all classes is required for continuation in the C.E.R.T. program. This course will begin November 6th in the City of American Canyon.
