Do you know how to extinguish a fire before it becomes large? Do you know how to safely remove a victim trapped under debris? Do you know the basic first aid techniques that can save a life? These questions are answered in a course now being offered to the residents & workers of Napa County with the cooperation of the County of Napa & the Cities of Napa\, American Canyon\, Calistoga and the Napa Valley College. It consists of five classes in a two-week period covering a series of topics in a 20-hour format that are taught in a “hands on” environment. DESCRIPTION:Are you prepared to help yourself\, family and neighbors in the event of a major disaster? Do you know what utilities to shut off in your home and how? Do you know how to extinguish a fire before it becomes large? Do you know how to safely remove a victim trapped under debris? Do you know the basic first aid techniques that can save a life? These questions are answered in a course now being offered to the residents & workers of Napa County with the cooperation of the County of Napa & the Cities of Napa\, American Canyon\, Calistoga and the Napa Valley College. It consists of five classes in a two-week period covering a series of topics in a 20-hour format that are taught in a “hands on” environment. DESCRIPTION:This training session will be an on-site\, active scenario drill.  Please Bring your Go Bag and a small gear bag with any equipment you might need to perform communications\, volunteer management\, donation management\, evacuation or shelter in place roles.  Please wear proper clothing to handle animals and move equipment.   If you are interested in evacuation\, do not bring your trailer\, we will identify all haulers with a hauling capacity sticker upon arrival.  This is a great opportunity to work with your teammates and fine tune your disaster skills.  All CERT members\, please bring your CERT vests and helmets.
